Robin has set up this page to avoid duplication of work.
Alex in Corfu has kindly provided an updated ALEXTRAN.EXE download
with sounds and text introduced into GPSS in the last few years.
e.g. Expected Time of Arrival, and online help in the
Pocket PC
version of GPSS.
Back in 1998,
Frank did translation of TRANSLAT.TXT to Dutch.
Herman provided all the WAV files, including sounds in Dutch mapping,
and those to support the latest ETA facilities in GPSS v4.8,
an updated TRANSLAT.TXT, BMP files for Instruments and Help,
and a Dutch GPSS.HLP - so it could all work in Dutch.
Robin is very grateful to those who helped get this working,
and particularly Herman who has done so much in so little time back in 1998,
and Alex, who has brought it up-to-date.
How to test GPSS speaking Dutch
The simple way to test GPSS speaking Dutch is as follows:
- Make sure you have a running GPSS system in c:\gpss04.
- Create a directory/folder c:\dutch
- Download ALEXTRAN.EXE (or DUCTRAN.EXE and DUTCTRA2.EXE) into c:\dutch
- Run ALEXTRAN (or DUTCTRAN and DUTCTRA2) to extract the files in them.
- put LANGUAGE.CFG into the GPSS folder with GPSS.EXE and GPSSPPC.EXE
- this will make GPSS use the sounds and other files in c:\dutch
